Maia Stern made a film about her father shaving his beard when she was 7. She grew up in Washington, DC and received a BA in Media Studies at Pitzer College. She worked at Cornerstone Agency - a creative marketing agency in New York City and then at The FADER, managing and producing all original content for FADER TV. She began freelancing in 2013, producing video content for various outlets including Barneys New York, Birchbox, Elle Magazine, New York Magazine, Sesame Street and more. She currently lives in Takoma Park, MD and produces videos for NPR and NPR Music in Washington, DC.
